All of my life I have had carpet in my home. Carpet can be great but it also has it\’s problems. They get worn out, they get stained up, and they can be a bit plain. I have decided to make a change this new year. This new year I plan to install hardwood and laminate flooring.
I have done research on these flooring types I have found that it has many benefits for your home. The natural patterns and colors can bring out the natural beauty of any home. To make my home beautiful all I need to do is find a color that will work with my decor. I believe this is going to be a wonderful new addition to my home this year.
Hardwood is slightly different than a laminate flooring. Hardwood flooring requires more work to install. Once you install it you have to sand and wax it properly. If you do not do this you will have a very dull looking hardwood floor. You will have to sand and wax it to get the shiny look you want. It is best just to do it the first time and be done with it.
Laminate flooring is easier to handle than hardwood. You simply buy it and install it. You have to do a little gluing, and measuring to be sure it is laid straight but it is much easier than laying hardwood flooring. They are also cheaper than hardwood floors. Laminate flooring is much easier to take care of and has lower maintenance involved.
Both of these flooring\’s can be installed either by a professional or by you. You should do some research and be sure to ask questions if you have any before you start this project yourself. If you are having doubts about your ability to complete this task then hire a professional. You could end up driving yourself a bit mad over a project of this magnitude.
The good thing is that this project is not going to cost you a fortune. You can buy this flooring at a local home improvement store for only a few bucks per square foot. A lot of stores will even add installation into the price. So stop holding on to your wallet so tight because it will not break you.
One of the greatest points of having these types of floors is the ease in which you can clean them. All you need is a broom and mop and you can have a clean floor in no time. When you have a spill simply wipe it up with a cloth and never think about it again. You will not have the worry of the liquid soaking into padding and reappearing long after the spill has been cleaned up.
